Theophanic Vision

Oct 22, 2006 - Kitchener

Look for yourself. Rather than think/talk/argue endlessly about the nature and even the existence of God, why not find out directly — from the source’s mouth, as it were. Several thousand years of intellectual debate have not brought humanity any closer to a sense of God that we can universally agree on. So let us retreat from the halls of reason in which these arguments have raged and see what we find when we look directly, for ourselves.

But how do we do that without reverting to the intellect, without getting caught in concepts and stuck in semantics? Simple: poetry. Let us develop the poet’s vision and trust our hearts to speak their truth in a way that makes deep personal sense. Theophanic vision is an approach to revelation, and understanding that suggests that often the truth is more purely rendered poetically than literally.
